I love targeting yes/no questions in speech & language therapy as much as the next SLP… but what makes this goal even better? Targeting FUNCTIONAL yes/no questions. Yes, this is already an important and functional goal. But answering questions regarding your patients’ safety in the everyday environment takes it up to another level.
I don’t know about you, but so many of my kiddos don’t understand safety measures and attempt to run into the street every time I take them out to their parents. I once even had a kid climb on top of his moms car and JUMP on it… Not that most of my kids disregard safety to that extent… but I definitely could use these safety yes/no questions with numerous of my clients – no matter the age.
This download includes 3 separate worksheets of varying target population (age 2-6, school-age, adults) with 10 safety-related yes/no question – it also includes a set of flashcards for each worksheet! You can either read each yes/no question aloud to your patient regarding safety measures in their environment, or provide them with the flashcards so they can read them themselves.
